Congratulations for Top Knol author - Prof. Narayan Rao

Dear Prof. Rao,

You deserve congratulations for many reasons. They are:

1. For writing more knols in english .. this is usually noted by many..

2. For trying to bring Knol culture in to education, teaching and learning sphere..

I am one of the knol authors who was encouraged me in to knols. I find knol technology extremely innovative and can bring easy, convenient, and low cost learning possibilities to millions of poor and underprivileged people anywhere in the world . Especially for this Prof. Rao need to be congratulated which is much more important thing to note.

3. For encouraging many others to embrace knols and inspiring them to write knols.

4. I also realize that he is the first.. probably earliest knol author who took it to. I wish that if facts are there .. let us explore how early Prof. Rao took up to this. Followers and imitators can be many but the first people are the important people whom we deserve the complements more.

5. I wish to pray to ALMIGHTY that Prof. Rao deserves Wonderful health, happiness without any back aches and knee pains so that he continue to inspire younger generation to embrace to the knowl (edge) culture all across the GLOBE.

Social Media and Languages Learning



Social media, media in which individuals are contributing on their own initiatives on subjects and on topics where they have interest, knowledge and expertise is providing unique content that is helpful to a niches of people looking for a particular way of presenting the subject.  Professional media would not have been able to create so much content with that great variety. It is because professionals expect to be paid every day for their efforts and hence they can not cater to small niches. But a large number of social media contributors are first contributing for the thrill of contributing. Some of them hope to receive some income, but even if they do not receive, they are still content with the satisfaction that they created some useful items for people to use. No doubt still large number of social media contributors say a million are receiving some regular monthly payment.But a million across the world is not a big number. Social media is thriving by providing an opportunity to even to a billion people to contribute an item or other to the pool of digitized knowledge.


I am happy to see number of resources being created in social media to learn languages. Presently I am doing a serious effort to learn Japanese and collecting various online resources in this regard. I am collecting the resources into an online book on learning Japanese.  I am happy to see a Japanese to Telugu dictionary today. (Japanese to Telugu dictionary) The dictionary invites all to contribute to improve the dictionary further. It is a good way using large number of people to develop a knowledge resource.

The free to write internet has provided an opportunity to share their unique knowledge, experience and thinking with the rest of the world. Any regulation of this network, must not hinder the this process and limit participation to few individuals who know more legalese and litigation and less about the pheonomena with which only few individuals are familiar with. We do not need journalists to report our answers to their queries in their own words. We want to share with the world our experience in our worlds. Whatever journalists may do can be secondary reporting or curation. But primary experience sharing has to be by individuals who took part in the event.  This opportunity gives every internet user to be the hero of internet.
