Google wins the Google Books Suit

http://www.economist.com/blogs/democracyinamerica/2015/10/words-masses?fsrc=scn/tw/te/bl/ed/wordsforthemasses

Reproducing too many of somebody else’s words for profit and without adding value to the work generally constitutes a copyright infringement. But if a reasonable portion is spun into parody or criticism, or if the work is put to a “transformative purpose”, it counts as permissible “fair use” under the Copyright Act of 1976.

Google Books does a transformative act. Ruled the judge.

Minnow Media Persons versus Mega Media Organizations

                                         Source: Google.com Doodle on 27 September 2015

Digital media allowed minnow media person to emerge. Blogs and social networks are creating citizen journalists and authors. They are able to mass customize successfully as a group and due to that they are eating away a portion of the market of mega media organizations. But this is a period of transition. Traditional print media organizations are embracing digital and are providing space to these citizen journalists and authors and thereby expanding their market share. But still, the enthusiasm shown by tech companies like Google, Yahoo and other companies is very high compared to the traditional companies. We need to thank Google etc. for taking pains to manage this social media activity. There is a revenue earning opportunity and significant number of bloggers or minnow media persons are making money.

There is lot of promotion material claiming that money making using blogs is very easy. Large number of people are trying and unwanted practices may be making their appearance. Social media platforms are trying to manage this big motley crowd of minnow media persons and channelise their energy into creating original content that support mass customization in a meaningful way. They are banning blogs, suspending adsense accounts, suspending social network accounts and exhorting all through various policy declarations to adhere to a discipline.

Should mega media organization see the minnows as a threat? Even though in the short term dynamic phase, the traditional media may look like losing, the bloggers will increase the reach of the traditional media through reaching nooks and corners of the world with specific news items and creating more visitors for online content of traditional media.

The Architecture of Shrama Yoga or Karma Yoga for Success in Spiritual World

Even a sweeper who sweeps the streets is eligible for moksha. He is God's child. God resides in him as an atman. So says Hindu philosophy, the view of life of Hindus.

Every person follows his duty and produces useful things. He can produce to satisfy his desires. He can produce to satisfy others desires. Whenever a person is able to produce to satisfy the necessities of others, he is making efforts to earn his moksha. It is called Niskama karma. Its meaning is simple. The act is not for fulfilling the desires of your body or that of your near and dear.It is for the service of rest of the world that is God or God's creation. Do service to God's creation and you are taken out of this God's playground of puppets. You can be in the playground and suffer pleasure and pain or you can join the God and be a part of the power that runs the playground. The choice is yours. The saints encourage you to reach the state of moksha, the eternal bliss.  Moksha can be attained by you by your efforts and God's grace. If you believe in God, then pray for his grace. But God has already spoken through the voices of many, many saints. Listen to them and do the activities to earn his grace.

http://shabdkosh.raftaar.in/Meaning-of-YOG-in-Hindi

The worg "yog" has so many meanings. So we have to use appropriate meanings to describe the functions or objectives of Yoga for attaining success in intellectual pursuits in the material world and the sub-processes prescribed by scholars of vedic and post vedic tradition.

In this article such an attempt will be made.

What a brahmin has to do?

Learn, teach, do yajnas, help others to do yajnas, to take daan, to give daan.

Why daan?

Brahmins, the intellectual community has to contribute value to the other professions so that there is surplus. Daan is given out of surplus. It is only when intellectual really contribute and help other professions to create surplus that they have the means to live. They are asked to give daan also. What does it mean? The brahmin or the intellectual person is not expected to accumulate wealth. So whenever he has surplus he is asked to give daan.

A brahmin is to learn on a continuous basis. Tapas or present day research was prescribed for Brahmins. Purans were heard by brahmins first. Then then promoted the purans among others.

What is yajna?  Yajna is practicing the knowledge. The tapas or research may produce new knowledge. But it has to be put in practice to give benefits to society. Brahmins are asked to perform yajnas for the benefit of society and also to support yajnas performed by other professionals.

People like you because you help them. People like you because they feel happy when they see you. They like you because they feel happy when they think of you.  Help people whenever you can. Entertainment is essential for life. Apart from sleep, entertainment relaxes the tired parts of the body, and provides energy to them to renew the economic work. “Frequently, when I suggest to people that they detach from a person or problem, they recoil in horror. “Oh, no!” they say. “I could never do that. I love him, or her, too much. I care too much to do that. This problem or person is too important to me. I have to stay attached!” My answer to that is, “WHO SAYS YOU HAVE TO?” I’ve got news—good news. We don’t “have to.” There’s a better way. It’s called “detachment.” It may be scary at first, but it will ultimately work better for everyone involved.”

"If you decide to change but don't tell anyone that you are changing it's going to take them really long to pick upon it. Instead tell them ... Now, people would be on the lookout for your changed behaviour and when you do change, people will be more aware of it and give you more credit for doing so."

http://www.ijcaonline.org/volume4/number6/pxc3871159.pdf

NIT study is was done over 2 years data of all the students of the institute using institutes proxy server data.

On an average  students visit 68 sites in a day spread over 6 sessions, and they spend 300 minutes (5 hours per day).

But does an average user visit 68 sites in a day? I don't think an average user visits even 10 sites per day.
